The arborea Marina Resort Neustadt is officially GreenSign certified

The GreenSign Institute confirms the hotel's successful sustainable orientation and high quality standards.

Neustadt in Holstein, January 16, 2024 - The arborea Marina Resort Neustadt is delighted to be a certified GreenSign hotel with immediate effect. The hotel has been awarded a very good level 4 out of 5 for its sustainability practices and efforts. As part of the certification process, the hotel underwent a self-evaluation in over 100 criteria from eight core areas and an on-site audit. The GreenSign Institute, which carried out the GreenSign certification, is the leading certification company in the hotel industry in the area of sustainability and is also officially recognized by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC).

The GreenSign certificate not only confirms the hotel's high quality standards, but also its holistic approach to sustainability. In addition to the core values of hospitality and professionalism, the theme of sustainability has run through the hotel since its opening in 2018. Straws made from straw, coat hangers made from recycled files, carpets made from fishing nets and workwear made from organic cotton: “Our vision is to be a sustainable hotel that not only meets the expectations of our guests, but also makes a positive contribution to the environment,” says Jan Schwarzer, the hotel's director, “We are delighted that our initiatives have been recognized by the Green Sign certification.”

In addition to Jan Schwarzer, his deputy Patrick Fischer is also committed to sustainability. “We have implemented two-day cleaning in the guest rooms and guarantee a zero-waste buffet at breakfast. Nothing goes to waste here. This is also reflected in the sharing concept in the hotel's restaurant,” says the trained restaurateur.
The entire team is committed to sustainable development on a daily basis. A sustainability program and a catalog of measures relating to corporate social responsibility are already being implemented. “We are constantly improving and breaking new ground to create a sustainable future,” confirms Jan Schwarzer.

The arborea Marina Resort is part of the RIMC Group and was opened in June 2018 in the largest marina in the Baltic Sea, adjacent to a nature reserve and the ancora Marina in Neustadt in Holstein. In line with the Fairtrade City Neustadt and the marina, which has been awarded the Blue Flag, the arborea Marina Resort Neustadt was planned sustainably right from the development and construction phase. The hotel has 124 rooms, some with a direct view of the Baltic Sea, conference rooms of various sizes, two restaurants and a spacious spa area with three saunas, an infinity pool, various relaxation areas and treatment rooms for beauty treatments.
