For us, sustainability is not a short-term goal, but a long-term commitment. We strive to harmonise social, ecological and economic goals in order to create long-term values that will last for generations. We are also committed to protecting natural resources, reducing our ecological footprint and promoting social justice in all areas of our company.
At the beginning of 2024, our hotels were awarded GreenSign Hotel certification by the GreenSign Institute. As a visible sign of our commitment and our progressive sustainability strategies, we were awarded an outstanding Level 4 in almost all hotels.
Following the successful GreenSign Hotel certifications, our office in Hamburg follows suit and receives the GreenSign Office certificate. The certification confirms our efforts in areas such as environmental management, energy and water efficiency, waste reduction, sustainable procurement, mobility, as well as social and economic responsibility. We are proud of this recognition and will continue to do our best to act environmentally consciously and make a positive contribution.
The GreenSign Institute is the leading certification company in the hotel industry in the area of sustainability and is officially recognised by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC). Almost all certified hotels achieved a very good GreenSign Hotel Level 4 out of 5.
As part of the certification process, the hotels had to undergo an on-site audit following a self-evaluation based on a catalogue of 100 criteria. All three pillars of sustainability - ecology, economy and social commitment - were included in the assessment.
