New house for WorldHotels Elite Collection in Switzerland

With the Modern Times Hotel in Vevey on Lake Geneva, an exceptional hotel has chosen to join the WorldHotels family.

The 136-room property, which is completely dedicated to the person and work of Charlie Chaplin, will in future use the services of the BWH Hotel Group Central Europe umbrella brand within the WorldHotels Elite Collection and benefit from international marketing and distribution.

An exceptional hotel in Switzerland joins BWH Hotel Group Central Europe: the Modern Times Hotel on Lake Geneva has chosen the BWH brand family WorldHotels to benefit from the international marketing and sales services of the group of individual hotels from now on. Within the WorldHotels Elite Collection, which comprises a carefully selected portfolio of hotels with a particularly upscale ambience and local flair, the 136-room hotel in Vevey, Switzerland, near Montreux, will continue to welcome its guests with a very special design concept: Located within walking distance of the "Chaplin's World" museum, the Modern Times Hotel has also been completely dedicated to the person and work of the famous artist in all areas since its opening in 2016 - not least, the hotel name refers to Chaplin's classic film Modern Times. The exclusive four-star business hotel is operated by the Hamburg-based RIMC Hotels & Resorts Group, one of the leading international hotel companies.

Only Swiss hotel dedicated to Charlie Chaplin.

Arguably Vevey's most famous resident was comedian Charlie Chaplin, who spent the last quarter century of his life there. Opened in 2016, the Modern Times Hotel is the only hotel in Switzerland entirely dedicated to this artist and his work, and bears visible tribute to him in every room: From large-format images from Chaplin's classic film "Modern Times" in the rooms, to numerous photos, videos, art objects and accessories along with the furnishings, which are predominantly in shades of white, gray and black, and a design language that repeatedly picks up on the symbolic cogwheel from the film, to the Chaplin silhouette on the facade, the theme is played through and made visible in all facets - not least, of course, through the hotel's formative naming by Chaplin's classic film. Finally, the nearby museum "Chaplin's World" in Vevey offers further multimedia experiences and discoveries on more than 3,000 square meters.

Located above the town of Vevey on Lake Geneva in French-speaking Switzerland, the Modern Times Hotel welcomes guests with 136 rooms and junior suites, all stylishly designed: Vitra designer furniture as well as fine leather surfaces and white oak flooring create feel-good moments. The spacious bathrooms are lined with light-colored natural stone, and large, soundproof windows offer views of the garden, lake or mountains. In the gastronomic area, guests will find the Times Bar and Lounge as well as the Times Grill, a restaurant for meat gourmets including a show grill, known for its dry-aged meat specialties. Guests can also enjoy culinary delights on the large summer terrace, right next to a biotope and spacious garden and park that feels like Provence. A small fitness center is available for sports enthusiasts. Six inter-combinable conference rooms allow events for up to 180 people at the four-star business hotel. Sustainability is a top priority at the Modern Times Hotel: The energy-saving Minergie building gets its energy and hot water from solar panels on its own roof, and it offers several charging stations for electric cars. Meat, dairy, and vegetable products are consistently sourced from producers in the region, and the kitchen team places great emphasis on fresh, seasonal cuisine.

The town of Vevey is considered one of the pearls of the Swiss Riviera: its location directly on the lake with a magnificent view of the Alpine panorama, the mild climate, the vineyards, the countless excursion destinations in the region, and the proud paddlewheel steamers on the water characterize the town on Lake Geneva.
